Arlette Tabart
Sacem member since 1968 – Member of the Sacem Board of Directors since 1998 Secretary General of the Board of Directors
Many performers have called on Arlette Tabart for her talent and writing: from Dalida to Herbert Léonard, Nicoletta, Green & Lejeune, Shake, Pascal Danel, as well as Charles Dumont, Lucky Blondo, Patricia Carli, Patrick Juvet, Nicole Rieu among others.
A writer, but also a woman of radio, Arlette Tabart started with Europe 1 (then named Europe No. 1).
From 1958 to 1974, she was host, Programme Planner and Programming Director. She could only become a music expert with a radio station whose programmes were run by Lucien Morisse and a certain Pierre Delanoé, who penned over 5,000 songs and poems. Affectionately nicknamed Babar —a name that sticks even today— she launched several programmes which gave the station its strong musical bent. Opposed to any form of discrimination based on generation or genre, she created an area of freedom: a programme with a telling name, “J’ai vu de la lumière, je suis entré…” (I saw light and just walked in…). Arlette Tabart builds very open programming with the participation of stars of the accordion, the Rolling Stones, Claude François, Barbara, Thierry Le Luron, Coluche, Laurent Voulzy…
She also programmes new talents discovered thanks to weekly auditions (Line & Willy…), young and sometimes “turbulent” authors and composers (Claude Lemesle, Étienne Roda-Gil, Jean-Pierre Bourtayre, Jean-Pierre Lang…
In 1980, Arlette Tabart worked for a short time at RMC Radio with her comrades Coluche and Romain Goupil, then, with the liberalization of the airwaves, joined Radio-Mont-Blanc before becoming Programme Director for Radio-Nostalgie in 1987. Music has always had an essential role in Arlette Tabart’s career.
On television, she has been Programme Planner and Casting Director for many programmes. Arlette Tabart is also a music critic and columnist in various professional journals, Show Magazine in particular.
