Sacem anticipates changes in the way works are used, identifies new sources of revenue, and negotiates agreements to ensure the best possible remuneration for its members and partners — all while continuously improving its digital performance.
Know How
Contracts with the international platforms
Sacem signs multi-territory licences with all the streaming services and social networks sector to capture the fairest value for the rights of its members and partners when their works are used in a digital environment. Its strategy is based on a perfect knowledge of the digital market, on its partnerships and on the strength of its repertoire, the second most exported in the world after the British-American repertoire.
The fact that contracts are signed every time a new service is launched underscores the effectiveness of collective copyright management in Europe in the digital age.

Partnerships: representing international publishers and other authors’ societies
International publishers such as Universal Music Publishing, Strictly Confidential, Because, Pen Music, Nanada Music and Impel have entrusted Sacem with the multi-territorial management of their digital rights.
Sacem has also established partnerships with the South Korean society Komca and Socan, the Canadian rights-management society, to manage their members’ digital rights in Europe.
Sacem represents its own repertoire and that of its partners in each multi-territory licence it signs with digital platforms. Its principal partners benefit from access to URights, the copyright management platform for online music.
